CoCATA1 - Changeover Domestic to Commercial Catering Appliances Gas Safety

                        Assessment Information

This course is for experienced people who wish to undertake commission, service, repair and breakdown of commercial catering appliances. COCATA1 is normally undertaken as part of the Domestic to Commercial Catering Changeover Course.

This course is designed to allow domestic based engineers to move into commercial catering without duplicating of any of the core work activities done during their domestic gas training and assessment.

 

Course Content

  • Candidates will learn all safety aspects of commercial catering gas safety that are different from those encountered in CCN1.

  • Legislation

  • Tightness testing (appliance supply)

  • Ventilation and flues (including canopies)

  • Pipework

  • Combustion

  • Controls including canopy interlocks

  • Unsafe situations and emergency actions

 

Pre-requisites

  • Candidates must hold a current CCN1 and a domestic appliance.
  • You will need to bring with you

  • Candidate name and address
  • Candidate National Insurance number
  • 2 passport sized photographs
  • Copies of relevant qualifications and/or evidence of gas work experience
  • A declaration of the category for the individual making the application
  • First-time applicants will also be required to provide an acceptable  form of photographic identification e.g. a passport or driving licence
